Editing a lockdown video for “Don’t You Leave Us Too Soon”
Here’s a brand new song and video from Sid Griffin.
Sid filmed most of the footage himself, around his home in London, along with a run through of the song, sent it to us and we edited it all together.
He had this to say about the song…
“Written in response to a friend who contracted Covid-19, the song Don’t You Leave Us Too Soon was demoed by Sid The Squid live to a video with a few overdubs subsequently added by Chris Hillman. (The talented British Chris Hillman who plays with Billy Bragg, not the west coast Burrito Brother!)
Let this song be a prayer for any of our loved ones who fall ill. We love them and we don’t want them to leave us so tragically and so soon.”
A fine song and a lovely sentiment…
We should also mention that this week, in lieu of any current touring, Sid will be playing a free, solo show live via video stream on Thursday May 21st. The show is operating a tip jar system and all proceeds will go to charity feednhs.com.
